Kylie studied Optometry in the University of brand new Southern Wales graduating, with Honours, in 1996. She then gone back to the woman residence city of Dubbo.

From 1997 to 1999 Kylie practiced in Perth and returned to Dubbo for another four many years prior to working as a locum across nation NSW. During this time Kylie took part in an aid visit to Tanzania for 30 days, offering no-cost eye treatment and spectacles to remote villagers west of Dodoma.
